Despite having a lot of bad and unhealthy habits that might limit his physique, Thomas has quite an athletic figure. Thankfully, his good genes allow him to build and maintain quite effortlessly a relatively athletic posture. He is known to be a frequent visitor of the local gym where he mostly works on the strength in his arms, shoulder and back.

One thing that really stands out about Thomas is his deep blue eyes that are in contrast with his dark hair. These are features that he has gotten from his mother. Thomas likes to be groomed and spends lots of time visiting his favourite barber in town. He prefers his hair to be short and his beard to be shaven. However, he sometimes suddenly has the urge to let things grow.

When it comes to his style of clothing, Thomas is rarely seen in anything other than a suit when walking around the university´s premises. His suits are quite infamous at Queen's College. Outside his work, he is either dressed in his sport clothing or anything suitable for trecking.

Personality

Thomas is capable of being extremely charming, persuasive, and playful, although he does not always exercise these traits. His good looks, easy smile, confidence, and charisma make him a hit with both students, colleagues, and clients. He is very dedicated towards his students, trying to help them out whenever he can. Nevertheless, he typically abides by the rule of not getting emotionally attached to them, because he thinks of it as a weakness to both him and his profession, believing that if people realize he cares about something, they will walk all over him.

Thomas, however, is not without flaws. Despite his many qualities, Thomas has emotional problems stemming from both the loss of his parents during his childhood and the loss of his wife. He tries to distance himself emotionally from other people whenever he can. Nonetheless, some of his care and concern expresssess itself when it comes to those that do manage to get close to him. Thomas has not seem to have noticed the impenetrable armor he’s built around himself. He also tends to overindulge himself in alcohol, cigarettes, and sex in part to self-medicate for his loss. When overly stressed, upset, or uncomfortable, he will quickly find the nearest bottle of whiskey and consume most of it.

Next to that, despite his respectful image at the university, Thomas feels completely comfortable with operating in the grey. He claims he would not outright break rules, however, in more desperate circumstances, he has shown to take a little risk. One example of this is that to pay off his debts, he secretly runs illegal bettings during the university’s polo games.

Born and raised in England, Thomas was born as an only child. When he was only ten years old, his parents died in a devastating car crash. He was then taken in and raised by his paternal grandmother, Claire Braden who lived on a farm. Thomas spent his childhood collecting fossils, stones, and natural specimens. Despite the loss of his parents as a child, Thomas found school incredibly easy due to his photographic memory. He managed to get a scholarship and at the age of seventeen, he enrolled into Queen´s College to study biology.

During his studies at Queen´s College, Thomas has proven himself to be a very talented student. Not only did he manage to complete his studies cum laude, but he was also participating in several extracurricular activities. Thomas used to be part of the student society Olympia, however, he never got to like the fraternal life. Instead, he preferred to spend his free time competing at the Queen´s College Polo Club.

After finishing his studies at Queen´s College, Thomas pursued research at the university. First under his beloved professor and afterward he conducted his own studies. His focus is mostly on genetics and zoology. After having worked at the university for several years, Thomas accepts a position at a company in Germany.

While working at the company, Thomas gets to meet the lovely Greta with whom he gets to work on a project. Not long after their first encounter, the two fall in love with each other. Thomas adores her deeply, to the point where he would take a bullet for her. On their one-year anniversary, Thomas asked her for her hand and the two marry three months later accompanied by only a few family members and friends. The joy, however, does not last long. Because a few months after their marriage Greta is diagnosed with cancer and dies eventually. Thomas is left alone, his life upside down. Eventually, he gets to the point in which he contemplates suicide, but instead, he decides to sell all his belongings and starts traveling the world.

In the upcoming years, Thomas spends years traveling to several countries where he takes on temporary projects. His journey takes him to almost all continents of the world, however, he never really got to feel home anywhere. Someday, he receives a message that his grandmother Claire is in bad health and Thomas decides to go back to London to spend some time with her. During his stay, he visits one of the competitions played by his old polo club from the university where he runs into an old acquaintance, who manages to convince him to take a job offer at the university into consideration. Thomas applies, however, not initially with the idea of becoming a professor at the university…
