Christmas was not too far away any longer, which meant a very welcome break from the academic year for both staff and students. She was more than ready to take two weeks off to celebrate and relax. Seeing as she hailed from a catholic family, Christmas had always been important to her and her family. She flew back to Milan every year to celebrate with her parents, siblings, and cousins. A time that was dear to her heart, since she did not see her family much anymore ever since she had moved to London. Needless to say, she was excited to return home. But there were a few more days to bridge, which were oftentimes the busiest. A few deadlines for papers that needed to be reviewed before Christmas break, not to mention the influx of students that would come in or drop out after the first semester. There was a lot of work involved, so much that she hardly paid mind to the time anymore. She lifted a brow when Archibald opened the door to her office, checking the time on her watch. “Is it one already?” she said, almost baffled. Sometimes it felt as if there wasn’t enough time in the day to cover all the work she had been meaning to do. “But of course, just a second.” She just needed to finish up one more thing.
