Isabella, often fondly referred to as Bella, was born in 1968 Milan as the only daughter of Vincenzo and Monica Coppola. Her father owned an advertisement agency, so she was raised in a very affluent family. Growing up, Bella was very much a daddy’s girl. Vincenzo never left her wanting for anything. ‘What Bella wants, Bella gets’, he often said as he presented her with yet another pretty dress or piece of expensive jewellery. Her mother, too, enjoyed showing off her daughter, seeing as Bella was often praised for her looks.

Bella had a carefree childhood. She received a great education, and every now and then she got to take a peek behind the curtains of the family business. It did not take long for her to prove herself as a very intelligent young woman, but she quickly took note that people were far more interested in the way she looked. While bothersome, she did not let this fact discourage her from trying her hardest in the realm of academics.

At the age of sixteen, she was scouted by a modelling agency. Bella accepted a few jobs here and there, but was quick to find that she found the work superficial, dull, and unfulfilling. She quit and focused on her education again, eventually moving to London in order to go to university. She studied political science and psychology, graduating summa cum laude in both courses. During her time at Queen’s College of London, she also met her future husband, David Morain.

With many interests and only a limited amount of time, Bella was not sure about which direction to head in with regards to her future. She was highly interested in education, so she remained with her alma mater in order to pursue a PHD. While doing so, she also wrote and published three novels that enjoyed great commercial success. But not everything was working out in her favour. When she was twenty-seven, her father passed away from cancer, and her world came to a screeching halt.

She spent the next half year in Italy to be with her family again. Slowly, she started to recover from the loss, after which she returned to the United Kingdom. At the age of twenty-nine, David and she got married in Milan. The couple had their first child a year later. Bella adored her precious daughter from the very start and quickly took to being a mother. However, David’s involvement in parenting – or rather, his lack thereof – had always disappointed her greatly.

Bella managed to balance family life with a successful career in education. As her children grew older, she got increasingly involved with the university again. While her career thrived, her marriage started to deteriorate. She started to avoid her husband, working longer hours so that she did not have to spend time with him. Whenever she was home, she retreated to her office. While there was rarely any arguing, it was clear that their marriage had turned cold and loveless.

Halfway through her forties, Bella filed for divorce. While she was heart-broken about the state of their marriage, she was glad that David and her could separate somewhat peacefully at least. They sold their home, and Bella moved towards the centre of London, where she could fully focus on her career once again. Here, she wrote two more novels.

Two years ago, Bella was promoted to the position of Principal of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Queen’s College of London. She takes great pride in her current position and performs her responsibilities with the utmost care and diligence. Her private life, however, has turned into a little bit of a mess now that she has thoroughly enjoyed her freedoms as a divorced woman.
