We learn to live with the pain, mosaic broken hearts, but this love is brave and wild

Moving from the States to the small island known as Great Britain had certainly been a big change. Even though she had visited the country ever since she was little, twice a year, moving there full-time was tougher than she had imagined. So much was different, ranging from proportions to British manners. It had taken a lot of getting used to.

Even if she knew the basiscs by now, there was still something she learned every single day. Wether it was a word or how to stand in line for a drink at the coffee shop. At the end of the day she found herself feeling somewhat accomplished, yet tired. She needed to unwind and quickly found a solution for it. Most nights when she couldn't sleep, she snuck out and headed for the arts and humanities faculty, to the music rooms. Those stayed open, probably for when students had a sudden burst of inspiration. But for her, it was a perfect place to just enjoy one of her hobbies. She started mindlessly playing one of the guitars, singing along softly without uttering actual sentences. So far, she hadn't been caught yet -if you could truly get caught playing an instrument-. She figured tonight wouldn't be any different. After all, who in their right mind would visit this particular music room at one in the morning?

Joshua sometimes wished he would’ve decided to study music instead, but he knew that the odds of ever finding a job in the music industry was going to be more than just difficult. Only the lucky ones made it, and he didn’t want to be one of the rats that never managed to climb the ladder. He had been clever, and he had picked a decent study, but that didn’t mean his love for music would fade anytime soon.

Quietly, he had entered the arts and humanities faculty. He didn’t come here often, and he wasn’t even sure if they’d like him to wander around at this late hour. Alright, perhaps he was a little bit drunk and he didn’t know what the fuck he was doing. Wearing a yellow jacket and a purple scarf surely made clear he didn’t belong here. On the other hand, he was looking quite artistic tonight, didn’t he? A soft gasp left his mouth when he heard a voice down the hallway, which meant he wasn’t alone. When he peeked into the room, he noticed a woman with a guitar. ”Security, make yourself known,” he stated, lowering his voice a little to sound more threatening – something that was a stark contrast with his almost adorable look. For now, he managed to keep his brows furrowed, and he wondered if she would fall for it.
